Monmouth University poll shows most voters (even some in MAGA Country) don’t believe the election was rigged
A new Monmouth University Poll out today shows 60% of its respondents believe Joe Biden won the election fair and square. It’s worth noting that Trump received 47.3 % of the popular vote to Biden’s 51%, so that 60% contains 13% of MAGA voters who have not bought Trump’s election fraud bullshit. I find this data to be a pleasant surprise.
The poll, conducted between November 12-16, surveyed 810 adults on their beliefs about the fairness of the election, opinion on the transition (or lack thereof) to the incoming Biden administration, and how they felt about Donald Trump losing and Joe Biden winning.
Most of the respondents voted in the election, and they were divided fairly evenly in how they cast their ballots:
On the question of did Donald Trump losing the election make them feel angry, dissatisfied, satisfied, or happy, here is how they answered:
On the question of did the idea of Joe Biden becoming President make them feel angry, dissatisfied, satisfied, or happy, here is how they answered:
Those surveyed overwhelmingly disapproved of how Trump is handling the transition process:
It’s important to note that the 61% who disapproved of the transition contains a fair number of MAGA voters — probably the same ones who think Biden won fair and square. This small snapshot of politics in time gives me hope that Democracy isn’t dead yet.
